DHEA supports bone strength and cartilage formation

Are you feeling the aches and pains of getting older? Do your knees or knuckles hurt? Let’s face it, we’re all getting older. But now we can do something about it. Stave off those arthritic aches and pains.  Not pain killers...Do something to maintain healthy joints!

Several recent medical research studies have shown that dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) helps to protect against arthritis. The medical research findings showed that DHEA could potentially help stave off the development of and progression of osteoarthritis (OA) because DHEA allows for enhanced cartilage formation.(1) That’s great news !

The medical research findings continue to support maintaining DHEA levels. Why? Well, The Life Extension Foundation's medical research team explains the scientific findings here:

“The role and therapeutic potential of the hormone dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in male and female rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients is supported by a broad base of evidence."(2)

These findings are further supported by peer reviewed medical research performed at Washington University School of Medicine by doctors Villareal, Holloszy and Kohrt. The research study is titled “Effects of DHEA replacement on bone mineral density and body composition in elderly women and men” The research showed that DHEA supplementation in older men and women could help improve age related changes in fat mass and improve bone mineral density (BMD).(3)

It’s a good idea to ask your health provider about DHEA. If he or she is not familiar with the research, be sure to share these findings and information about Twist 25 DHEA cream being a more beneficial way to use DHEA than oral DHEA

Physicians believe that DHEA helps maintain strong bones as we get older in part because DHEA is a precursor to estrogen and testosterone, both of which are known to help reduce bone loss; but it appears that DHEA also has separate bone preserving effects that are unrelated to its metabolism into other hormones. The Mayo Clinic indicates that “Evidence suggests that higher DHEA levels may be linked to higher bone density, particularly in women who have undergone menopause. Research reports that DHEA supplements may help increase bone density.”(4)

After considering these medical research findings that show DHEA helps support bone strength, cartilage and connective tissue formation, while it also reduces inflammation, it makes sense to conclude that DHEA is a great way to combat arthritis.

Fight those aches and pains !We invite you to use Twist 25 DHEA Cream twice daily for three weeks and see for yourself. Naturally maintain youthful energy to look your best and feel your best!

The Answer is YES!

…But what’s the question, you may ask. For most of us, deciding to do something new in our daily routine for health or happiness takes passing the “Is this worth it?” test.

Question:
#1 - Is it safe?

#2 - Is it proven by science
to do something beneficial?

#3 - Is the benefit worth the cost?

This is the way most people decide upon new available health options to add into the daily routine.  So let’s walk through this with Twist 25 DHEA cream.

#1 Is Twist 25 DHEA cream safe?
Yes.  There are no dangerous side effects from using Twist 25 DHEA cream. It contains no dangerous or harmful ingredients and is made with bioidentical DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) the most abundant naturally occurring pro-hormone in the human body, mixed into a highly absorbable coconut oil base, Vitamin E and coenzyme Q-10, and the topical cream contains no parabens, no petroleum by-products, no cyclodextrins, no odor, no oily residue. Tested for safety and efficacy.

#2 Is Twist 25 DHEA cream proven by science to do something beneficial?

Yes.
  • reduces risk of cardiovascular disease, the #1 cause of death in the USA and the world
  • reduces risk of cancer of all types
  • helps improve deep REM sleep
  • helps support immune response
  • helps reduce abdominal fat
  • helps improve muscle tone
  • helps improve mental function, sharpness of mind, mood and focus
  • reduces risks of chemical and UV carcinogens for skin cells
  • is a base for sebum that helps skin hydration
  • improves mood and sense of well-being—fights depression
  • counterbalances negative effects of stress and high cortisol
  • helps to counter metabolic syndrome
  • helps cartilage and connective tissue
  • helps support bone strength

#3 Is the benefit worth the cost?
Yes. Given all the beneficial effects of using a properly made bioidentical DHEA cream called Twist 25, and the absence of any dangerous side effects would the benefits be worth the cost?

Let’s think this through:

One container of Twist 25 DHEA cream provides 50 ML of bioidentical DHEA cream.  The suggested use is to apply at least 1 full pump press of cream each morning and evening onto thin hairless skin and rub it in until it is completely absorbed.  One full pump press from the bottle is about 0.5 ML of cream.  So a container of cream provides about 100 squirts of cream.  So if 1 squirt is applied every morning and evening, a container of cream would last about 50 days.  With no special discount codes applied or quantity discounts offered online at store.twist25.com the retail cost of 1 container of Twist 25 DHEA cream is $49.95.  So with no discounts used, the cost of using Twist 25 DHEA cream as directed costs at most about $1.00 per day.  $1.00 per day.

Treat yourself to the perfect advantage
Consider that each of us probably enjoys some little something each day – call it “a treat.” For many, it’s that cup of coffee at Starbucks that gives us a nice warm satisfying taste and a little pep in our step to start the day.  For some, it’s that smoothie that we get as a treat on the way home from a workout; or it may be that nice cold beer you savor when you get home from work while you watch TV, or that wonderful glass of wine you enjoy with dinner.

We all have some little things we enjoy in life that we do for ourselves. We don’t worry for a second that the cup of coffee from your favorite gourmet coffee shop costs $2 or $3 each day.  Nor does spending $50 to $80 on anti-aging skin care or beauty cream bother us in the least; or $2-$10 per day for sleeping pills or the wine.

So consider the benefits gained by adding Twist 25 DHEA cream into your daily routine. Let’s say – if all it did was help you sleep better at night, have softer younger looking skin, and have a little more energy …and it only costs $1 per day? Solves at least three needs that you spend $10 per day on now for $1 instead?  ...and there are no dangerous side-effects?

Count me in!

So, let’s summarize:
If you are 35 or up, male or female - Is adding Twist 25 DHEA cream to your daily routine worth it ?
Pretty simple to figure out – YES!

Great News That Can Add Some Muscle to Your Bone Health

Written by Erin Chamerlik, Nutrition Educator, MS, MT(ASCP)

Yin and Yang of Bone Health

Many people do not realize that our skeletal bones are living tissue constantly being remodeled. Complementary forces are at play to maintain and build healthy bones. This constant change between these two forces is necessary, and we cannot have healthy bone growth without the opposite force of breaking down bone, called resorption. Prescription medications for osteopenia and osteoporosis known as bisphosphonates work against nature by preventing resorption.

Do Women Really Need to Take Bone Drugs?

Dr. Susan Brown, PhD, medical anthropologist and certified nutritionist, says,

"Quite simply, my answer is no. In almost all cases, taking a prescription medication is not needed. Women from around the country come to our bone center for a natural approach to strengthening their bones — and it’s been working for more than 20 years. Osteoporosis and osteopenia medications are big business, but despite all the hype and marketing from drug companies, there is a safer, more effective and natural approach to bone health available to you."

Good News

While genetics do play a role in bone health, there are several environmental factors that also effect bone strength. This is great news, because that means that there are several action steps we can take that will support healthy bones and make a big difference in the quality of our bones. This is true even for those with weak bones. Diet, physical activity, stress, smoking, avoiding excess caffeine and alcohol use, as well as hormone balance, all play a critical role throughout life in bone strength.

Nutritional Deficiencies

Certain nutrients can slow bone loss and help in the formation of new bone.

While it is well known that calcium and Vitamin D are important nutrients, there are other nutrients that the body needs for bone health that are just as important. Dr. Robert Thompson M.D wrote that overconsumption of calcium can actually increase the risk of osteoporosis (Thompson, 2008). There are 20 different nutrients that the body needs, not just calcium. These nutrients include vitamin K2, Vitamin A and minerals like magnesium, boron, zinc, and strontium. Consider taking a quality multivitamin and a blend of Vitamins A, D, and K. A good bone-building supplement like Bone Guard will cover the required mineral nutrients.

Vitamins A, D, and K are fat soluble vitamins that work together to support strong bones, a healthy immune system, vision health and cardiovascular health. Vitamin D increases the amount of calcium that the body absorbs from the intestines. It must be accompanied by vitamin K2 to sweep calcium out of the soft tissues and put calcium where it belongs - in teeth and bones. MK-7 is the form of vitamin K2 recommended by natural health expert and author, Kate Rheaum-Bleue, ND. Dr. Rheaume-Bleue’s research shows that all three vitamins must be taken together since, “vitamins A and D are required for the production of vitamin K2-dependent proteins.” This synergistic combination of fat soluble vitamins is found in Health2Go’s A-D-K.

Foods to Include for Bone Health

Unrefined sea salt, like Redmond's Real Salt or Himalayan salt, contains many trace minerals required for healthy bones. Build your meals around high quality, unprocessed foods like fresh meats, fish, eggs, vegetables (especially dark green leafy vegetables), fresh fruit, nuts and seeds, healthy fats, and fermented and raw milk products from pasture-raised cows.

The Hormone Connection

Three hormones in the body play a role in regulating calcium levels in the body, parathyroid hormone, calcitriol (produced from Vitamin D) and calcitonin. In addition to the calcium-regulating hormones, stress hormones and sex hormones play a vital role in bone health in both men and women.

As women reach menopause, progesterone and estrogen levels decline and women may experience rapid bone loss if nothing is done to address this decline in hormone levels. Estrogen can retard the progression of bone resorption but progesterone helps rebuild bone. Testosterone is an important hormone that stimulates muscle growth, which will trigger bone growth from the positive stress on the bone.

Physicians believe that DHEA helps maintain strong bones as we get older because DHEA is a precursor to estrogen and testosterone, both of which are known to help reduce bone loss; but it appears that DHEA also has separate bone preserving effects that are unrelated to its metabolism into other hormones. The Mayo Clinic indicates that, “Evidence suggests that higher DHEA levels may be linked to higher bone density, particularly in women who have undergone menopause. Research reports that DHEA supplements may help increase bone density.” (Mayo Clinic).

Research performed at Washington University School of Medicine showed that DHEA supplementation in older men and women could help improve age related changes in fat mass and improve bone mineral density (Villarreal, 2000).

DHEA also balances out excess stress hormones which benefits bone growth. The body responds to stress by producing more of the adrenal hormone cortisol. When stress is not managed, large amounts of cortisol block bone growth. The body’s most abundant naturally occurring pro-hormone, DHEA, is crucial to counterbalance cortisol levels. Unfortunately, DHEA gradually decreases after age 25, while cortisol levels steadily increase as we age.

Men and women can safely address problems associated with hormone imbalance by using bioidentical topical hormone preparations. Twist 25 DHEA cream is the best bioidentical DHEA supplement cream made. Twist 25 DHEA cream helps maintain hormones naturally. I use it personally and recommend it for my clients.

As mentioned earlier, progesterone helps rebuild bone and a lack of progesterone around menopause is an important factor to consider. In addition to using DHEA cream, women can use a topical bioidentical progesterone to help prevent and even reverse osteoporosis.

You have choices

Your body has been designed to build and maintain strong, healthy bones when it is given the proper support. Choose to eat alkalinizing, bone-building foods and add nutritional support and hormone support. Exercise regularly and manage stress and cortisol levels. No matter what your age, you can implement these suggestions and start building healthier bones today!
