Maintain Mental and Physical Ability with DHEA and Vitamin D

Research shows that as we age “declining health is the number one concern (37%) about getting older, followed by financial worries (23%) and dependence on others (6%). Asked their greatest fear about growing old, Americans mentioned losing mental capacity twice as often as declining physical ability (62% vs. 29% respectively). 84% of Americans surveyed said they believe they can do things to stay healthy as they age, and 83% say they are currently taking steps to do so. Of those, more than half (56%) of Americans surveyed say they are exercising and 26% are watching their diet.”1

A recent article posted on Endocrineweb.com was titled “Vitamin D and DHEA Help Men Avoid Frailty: Study.” The article was about a recent medical study that showed that older men (age 70 -88) who had higher levels of Vitamin D had better bone health, muscle mass and strength.2 In another study, Australian researchers evaluated more than 4,000 older men ages 70 to 88, and they likewise found that vitamin D levels predicted independently who would become frail.3

So, there is very convincing medical research that shows that maintaining vitamin D levels as we get older is very important. In addition, reliable peer reviewed medical research shows that low levels of DHEA in older men were also found to increase the risk of becoming frail.4 Men and women with higher levels of DHEA have been found to have stronger bones; and better cognition as measured by memory, verbal fluency and visuospatial awareness.5

DHEA is a naturally occurring pro-hormone that our bodies produce more and more of each year from birth through puberty and into adulthood. But then DHEA production levels out between the ages of about 20 to 25 and begins to decline. After age 25, DHEA levels decrease by about 2 percent each year. So by age 35, we produce 20% less than when we were in our prime; by age 50, we only produce about half as much DHEA as we did at age 25. The decrease continues to where, by age 75, we are only producing 5 or 10% of optimum levels. To stave off this decline, it would be better to supplement DHEA levels as we get older, as shown in the graph below. Simply apply a little Twist 25 DHEA cream morning and evening each day to help maintain your DHEA level.

It is very important to be sure you’re using a quality DHEA supplement. When you shop for a DHEA supplement, there are low-cost products available, but ‘buyer beware!’ There is a price to pay for inferior quality. Stay Active. Stay Sharp. Stay Alive.

How can I stay young? The age old question (pun intended)!
It depends how you measure success; but science has repeatedly shown there are behaviors that help us stay healthy and happy as we get older:

#1 - Eat a healthy diet high in a variety of green vegetables
and low in carbohydrates

#2 - Exercise regularly

#3 - Sleep 8 hours

#4 - Maintain healthy hormone levels

Science confirms that staying active allows people to stay healthier and mentally sharper. It’s a fact that people who exercise regularly are more likely to stay sharp and live longer, too.

So Health2Go, Inc. after years of testing developed a daily DHEA skin cream that helps maintain healthy hormones, and thus people 35 and up regain the energy and drive to exercise every day—while also allowing for faster muscle recovery, less abdominal fat and stronger bones,?

Twist 25 DHEA cream helps men and women maintain healthy hormone levels. It also helps us get better quality sleep at night, have a positive attitude, sharper mind in addition to faster recovery after exercise.

Strive to make improvements every day on several different levels. Naturally maintain a sharp mind so you can have the energy to exercise, because we live longer if we stay active. Twist 25 DHEA cream boosts your body’s natural hormone production to help maintain healthy hormone levels. Healthy hormone levels, in turn, help us maintain an active lifestyle. And an active life, with a sharp mind, yields real progress toward health and happiness.

It is all the little things we do each day that make a big difference. Stay active. Stay sharp. Stay fit. Use Twist 25 DHEA cream.

Improve Your Workout Results and Lean Muscle Tone When You Use DHEA

Get better results from exercise, and recover faster after workouts, and get lean shapely muscle tone with a daily DHEA skin cream called Twist 25. DHEA gives you a workout advantage, while it also helps you have more energy, lose both visceral and subcutaneous fat1 and also helps you take care of your heart2, brain3, bone strength4 and more.

So what is DHEA?  Many people haven’t heard of DHEA or know what it does. Using it correctly as a properly made skin cream, rather than a pill, yields results—whereas DHEA pills don’t provide much noticeable benefit.

The reasons:
#1 - When DHEA is taken as a pill, most DHEA is eliminated by the liver, and what does get supplemented is just DHEA sulfate rather than free DHEA, which is what the body uses as a base precursor to the sex hormones.

#2 - DHEA metabolism occurs naturally in the dermis. In fact, for post menopausal women, more than 80% of hormone metabolism occurs naturally in the dermis (the skin).
5 So Twist 25 DHEA cream provides what the body makes (bioidentical DHEA) where it occurs naturally anyway (the dermis or skin).

Provided below is a list of beneficial things DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone, is proven by medical science to do:

  • reduces risk of cardiovascular disease, (#1 cause of death in the USA and the world)
  • reduces risk of cancer of all types
  • helps improve deep REM sleep6
  • helps support immune response
  • helps reduce abdominal fat
  • helps improve muscle tone and muscle recovery after workouts
  • helps improve mental function, sharpness of mind, mood and focus
  • reduces risks of chemical and UV carcinogens for skin cells
  • is a base for sebum that helps skin hydration
  • improves mood and sense of well-being.
  • fights depression
  • counterbalances negative effects of stress and high cortisol and inflammation
  • helps to counter metabolic syndrome
  • helps cartilage and connective tissue
  • helps neuron and cartilage formation
  • helps support bone strength

Today, let’s just focus on why DHEA is helpful in boosting results from exercise.  In short, there are two important reasons:

  1. DHEA is a base precursor for hormones. Hormones are the chemical messengers that drive our body.  So for men, it is a crucial base for testosterone, which is an important hormone for shapely muscle tone. For women, it is a precursor to all of the androgens and estrogen hormones which likewise give women the shapely muscle tone women have.
  2. DHEA helps to counterbalance the inflammatory hormone cortisol, and helps the body to rebuild connective tissue, neurons, and osteocytes (bone cells) as well as cartilage.  This is why Twist 25 cream users notice they don’t feel sore the next day after a hard workout.  The body recovers faster when DHEA levels are optimal.

So Twist and shout!  Bike or hike or run and jump; swim … or just play in the yard. But please exercise in some way every day; and if you use Twist 25 DHEA cream every day too, you’ll get more benefits from your workouts!

Enjoy!

DHEA for Stress

“Stress” - We know stress is bad for health. Work, appointments, bills to pay, conflicts with family or friends can cause stress in our lives. Every day it seems like it’s something else...some new situation to add some more stress.

When we’re young, the challenges seem easy to deal with; but day after day, year after year the stressed life just keeps up the challenges. What’s going on in our body when we live a high stress life? What’s going on in our body that allows stress to have a harmful effect on our health? What causes this?

It is well known that chronic long term stress can cause health problems and increase the risk for many diseases of aging. What if you could do something about it?

Recent medical research (Dr Lennartsson, et al) shows that people with high levels of stress at work have significantly lower DHEA levels. The study concluded that “…a reduced level of DHEA is the reason people under greater stress have more health problems and accelerated aging. (1) So High Stress = High cortisol and Low DHEA = More health problems.

This link between high stress and poor health makes sense. When we are under stress the body produces cortisol, intended to protect the body, via the “fight or flight” protective mode. This is an inflammatory response. Triggered by stress, cortisol is a hormone produced by the body to create a protective, inflammatory response. Unfortunately, when maintained day after day, the protective effects of elevated cortisol begin to have negative effects over time. So if stress becomes a recurring chronic thing, “sustained high cortisol levels destroy healthy muscle and bone; slow down healing and normal cell regeneration; co-opt biochemicals needed to make other vital hormones; impair digestion, metabolism and mental function; interfere with healthy endocrine function; and weaken the immune system.” (2) Elevated cortisol levels also make it easier to gain weight and frequently cause poor quality sleep at night.

As humans age, the body produces ever increasing amounts of cortisol. However, after age 25 we make less and less DHEA. DHEA is the only thing in the body that counterbalances the negative effects of cortisol. So, for men and women alike there is an important cross-road in the aging process when we make too much cortisol and not enough DHEA. According to John R. Woodward, M.D., “When the DHEA to cortisol ratio is less than 10 to 1, the diseases of aging are occurring.”

So do something about it. Apply Twist 25 DHEA cream onto thin hairless skin morning and evening each day, and maintain a healthy balance to stave off the effects of stress and high cortisol. Twist 25 DHEA cream provides what the body makes, where the body can use it. Use Twist 25 DHEA cream. Make your own hormones. Counter the harmful effects of cortisol.

DHEA supports bone strength and cartilage formation

Are you feeling the aches and pains of getting older? Do your knees or knuckles hurt? Let’s face it, we’re all getting older. But now we can do something about it. Stave off those arthritic aches and pains.  Not pain killers...Do something to maintain healthy joints!

Several recent medical research studies have shown that dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) helps to protect against arthritis. The medical research findings showed that DHEA could potentially help stave off the development of and progression of osteoarthritis (OA) because DHEA allows for enhanced cartilage formation.(1) That’s great news !

The medical research findings continue to support maintaining DHEA levels. Why? Well, The Life Extension Foundation's medical research team explains the scientific findings here:

“The role and therapeutic potential of the hormone dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in male and female rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients is supported by a broad base of evidence."(2)

These findings are further supported by peer reviewed medical research performed at Washington University School of Medicine by doctors Villareal, Holloszy and Kohrt. The research study is titled “Effects of DHEA replacement on bone mineral density and body composition in elderly women and men” The research showed that DHEA supplementation in older men and women could help improve age related changes in fat mass and improve bone mineral density (BMD).(3)

It’s a good idea to ask your health provider about DHEA. If he or she is not familiar with the research, be sure to share these findings and information about Twist 25 DHEA cream being a more beneficial way to use DHEA than oral DHEA

Physicians believe that DHEA helps maintain strong bones as we get older in part because DHEA is a precursor to estrogen and testosterone, both of which are known to help reduce bone loss; but it appears that DHEA also has separate bone preserving effects that are unrelated to its metabolism into other hormones. The Mayo Clinic indicates that “Evidence suggests that higher DHEA levels may be linked to higher bone density, particularly in women who have undergone menopause. Research reports that DHEA supplements may help increase bone density.”(4)

After considering these medical research findings that show DHEA helps support bone strength, cartilage and connective tissue formation, while it also reduces inflammation, it makes sense to conclude that DHEA is a great way to combat arthritis.

Fight those aches and pains !We invite you to use Twist 25 DHEA Cream twice daily for three weeks and see for yourself. Naturally maintain youthful energy to look your best and feel your best!

7 Secrets of Happy People

Ever notice that happy people also tend to be healthy people? Think about people you know who always seem cheerful and fun to be around ...people that make you smile.

Have you ever wondered: what’s the secret?

Science shows that happy people are healthier too.  So how do they do it?

Here are 7 rules from Health2Go that help make people happy:

#1 Say “yes” to social ties and doing things with others. Celebrate even small occasions with family and friends because relationships between us fulfill and enrich life. Make it a goal to connect with at least one friend or even someone new every day, and talk about good stuff, not bad.

#2 Give Thanks!  Be grateful for joys big or small.

#3 Look at the bright side. Find the silver lining even when things don’t go the way you hoped they would. Focus on the things that go right because they are what make life fun.  Be happy. Ignore the things that go wrong. Yes, $h%t happens. There is no time for angry thoughts when things don’t work. Move on.

#4 Lend a hand.  Help someone else with something.  People who help others tend to feel happier.  Always be on the lookout for ways to help others.

#5  Find joy in movement. Exercise gets the senses moving, gets blood flow going, and floods the body with endorphins, the feel good hormones. It also clears the brain, and releases stress and anxiety. So get moving some way every day. Use it or lose it.

#6 Talk nice to yourself.  Are you beating yourself up because you expect too much? Research shows that positive thinking changes brain function. Remember nobody is perfect; mistakes do sometimes happen. It’s not a perfect world…and, that’s O.K.

#7 Create something or play. Play a board game. Play guitar; Play ball with your dog. Doodle or draw something. Do something fun or silly at least once every day. Play time is good for you!

Just some fun tips to keep you happier and healthier; which BTW Twist 25 DHEA cream helps too!

A bientot,

Hugh
